I tried to make all my gifts this year, and I thought my little niece Arya needed a more awesome stuffed animal. So... what is better for an 8 month old baby than a gigantic flatworm?!

Note: My first attempt sewing. I usually do needle felting and stuff. I borrowed my mum's serger for most of it. Hand sewed on the eyes. The eyes are felt, the top is from a remnant and the bottom is an awesome bright orange fleece.

What a great idea! And you picked the cutest flatworm of all- I love planaria!!  I just had an idea...I might make a two headed one...or make one in sections with velcro to show how it can be split and regenerate (science teacher geek that I am...).

Great job!

Yeah, I went with a really simple planaria both because I'm new to sewing, and because I needed there to be less pieces since it was for the baby. That and I was on a tad bit of a craft-tastic time crunch.

I'm thinking of doing up more of these, plus maybe some microbes and a nudibranch or two....(I'm a science teacher geek too.... )
