I was inspired by the scarf on the cover of the latest Vogue Knitting, which is lovely (and designed by fellow Craftster kjtendyke!) - but I'm way too impatient, so I decided to adapt the pattern to make one for my Blythes, who needs a nice winter scarf more than I do  Grin

The work in progress. Basically the same as the magazine directions, but scaled down to 24 stitches around, 5 rows of garter stitch at each end, and instead of six tubes, I knit six 4-stitch i-cords. I knit until the strands were about two feet long.

And here's my girl Vivi modeling the completed scarf, along with a cap from a pattern out of Doll Coordinate Recipe #4 (but that's another story entirely!)

Adorable - very good job scaling down the pattern.

I really like that pattern - hmmm wonder if those "toy knitting machines" would knit the tubes needed for the original scarf? Well of course they would knit the tubes but would it be possible to do some sort of "provisional cast on/off" then use needles to knit the ends.

That's adorable!  I've been itching to do one of those scarves myself... knitting it up in miniature sounds like an excellent method for testing the technique!
