Any ideas for recycling gift wrap?

If you have a shredder, you could run it through and make straw or padding or whatever it is to put in next years gift baskets.  I'd probably store it flat and shred it at the last minute.

I just found this link when I was looking for cheap Christmas decorations to make- it might only work with heavy wrapping paper though.

Maybe some luminarias for decorating outside, esp. with relatively lightweight or see-through paper.

put it through your shredder and use it for stuffing packages.  that is what i have done with those goofy left over pieces.  it won't matter whether you really tore into it or not.

I realize this thread is old but in case you are still looking for ideas, how about covering some old boxes with the wrapping paper and then using them to store your Christmas decorations and ornaments? I also keep the cans that coffe and nuts come in when they have a plain lid (sometimes the lid has "Planters" or something else on it that ruins it but usually the store brand coffee and nuts are logo-free). I wash them out and then take off the wrapper and cut a piece of wrapping paper the same size and stick it on with double-sided tape. They make great pre-wrapped boxes when it comes time to wrap gifts. They are also great for food gifts like cookies or fudge.
