I painted these tiles as a Christmas gift Smiley
Late posting because they had to be given first Wink

ETA: I totally forgot to give credit- I looked online at tattoo flash so they would look "authentic!" Smiley I have no idea what sites they came from though, but if anyone is interested let me know and I'll see if I can find them again! Smiley

I love the birdie best, but the whole set is awesome!  Did the receiver hang them or lean them?

They actually are glazed and are quite a pain in the butt to paint! I suggest maybe trying to sand them a bit if you give it a shot so they're a bit easier to paint. Smiley
I used regular ol' acrylic paints- believe it or not, the cheapo 99 cent paints worked best! Smiley
Two coats worked best, save your black outlines for last! Wink

Mini tut of sorts:

1) Try sanding before drawing/painting... have not tried this, so it will be a trial. Have an extra tile incase this doesn't work! Wink
2) Lightly draw (in pencil) your picture... for mistakes, don't erase... use a peice of paper towel with water and dry off before fixing! (Thanks to my sister for figuring that out!)
3) Paint with acrylics, two coats seems to work best. Might take more depending on your brand. Apply 2nd coat AFTER first dries so you don't take first layer off (this will happen on unsanded tile).
4) Do your black outline AFTER all solid paint colors applied (if applicable to your artwork).
5) IMPORTANT STEP: Apply a clear layer of sealer to tiles! The paint WILL cheap, peal, scratch, even rub off without this. Sad

I got these at Lowe's, but I bet Home Depot and other home improvement stores carry them as well. I'm pretty sure they were only $1 Smiley

If you try Lowe's, you can also get one of the other colors (off white, black, etc.) so that's pretty cool too! Smiley
