You  need wings for sure and TONS of glitter. You could cut your dress up at the bottom so it's kind of tattered/wildlooking!

im making my own amy brown costume too. I'm basing it off "the brat" fairy. so far everythingiIve needed, like: nylons wire ribbon glitter glue fabric hair dye paint thread makeup earings  arm warmers shoes, have all cost me about 16!  for all that!  I'm also making my own wings. i want them to be huge! cuz i see the other girls costumes with just one foot wings and i think, "a real fairy's weight couldn'tbe held up with those tiny wings", so mine are going to be at least 5-6 feet hight and 3 feet long.

ooooo gotta go, thares lightening outside!!!

What I've done years past is make simple A-line dress, with a large spin, in a pretty earthy brown fabric. Then I bought a bunch of fake leaves and sewed them all over the bottom of the dress.

I also made a crown from floral wire and supplies and decorated it with lots and lots of earthy flowers, berries, twigs, etc.. and threw on a pretty bird in the front.
You know all of the floral decorations on wires and such? These are what I used. Just wrap the ends around the crown and FILL IT IN thick, hot-gluing things that don't want to stay. I wish I could find a pic, or at least the crown I made. Maybe I'll have to make one later.. hmmm...

Anywhoo.. I made wings and called myself a wood-sprite. Lots of compliments. Lots of glittery make-up.

When I think of amy brown I think of striped tights/stockings, tattered dress, arm and wrist cuffs. I think the wings should be whimsical and glittery. Maybe you can make little horns with clay.

Someone recently asked for ideas on making fairy wings; here's the thread. They got some good ideas.

HTH!
