so i recently purchased some of patons' new rumor yarn in moonstone heather. it's quite a big purchase for me because i can't afford the really good stuff. i love the yarn and was pondering some things to do with it, preferring to do something garmet-related instead of accessory-related. i'm so excited, even though i don't know what to do with it. it's so soft... and i'm a sucker for texture. Smiley
has anyone made anything from this yarn?
any ideas?
i bought four skeins in the same dye lot and the yarn is a #5 Bulky, just for reference.

thanks in advance!

AHH! I love this stuff!  I bought a couple skeins myself, but haven't figured out what to do with it.  I'll let you know if I find anything that looks good.

How about Julsey's Anthroplogie-Inspired Capelet with the humongous knitalong. I know it's been around for a while and it has been done and redone but I think it would be great for that yarn.

elijor: you know, i was going to do that knitalong with some other yarn... but now i might have to do two.... Smiley
i need to check if i have enough to modify this pattern to either have longer sleeves or a longer body. i do like the idea a lot though.

marimbachick: definitely let me know what you decide. Smiley

I'm fascinated with this yarn. Had to pick up a ball the other day. I have no clue what I'll do with one ball but it really wanted to go home with me and I'd already blown most of the day's yarn budget at my LYS inventory clearance sale.

I haven't made anything large with this yarn, but I made a cabled hat with the durberry heather and some armwarmers with the hibiscus heather. The hat was absolutely awesome and the armwarmers okay (it was a garter stitch pattern and I don't think the garter stitch did much for the beauty of the yarn). I love knitting with it, though. I think it's one of the best craft store yarns available.
