Several people asked for a video clip for French knots, and I had a chance to get around to that this weekend, so it's up! Feel free to check it out. I think there are lots of versions of the French knot, but this is the one I find easiest!

Enjoy - let me know what you think?!?

Hi everybody~
I decided to place all of TreeCatus' video tutorials in one place so you wouldn't have to search for them. More will be added as time goes on. Thanks!

Give me a little time to post them-I should have it all caught up in a day or two. Smiley

Thanks, Kittykill!

If you go to the index on needlenthread, you will be able to click on the stitch name and go straight to the video page for that stitch. Here's the link for the index:

Hi, everyone! Happy New Year!

I've added a video tutorial for wheat stitch (aka "wheater stitch"), with a photo example of the stitch on the page as well. You'll find the tutorial here:

http://www.needlenthread.com/2007/01/wheat-stitch-video-tutorial.html

All the best for 2007!

Just added a new tutorial, if anyone's interested! It's for Chevron Stitch. You can find the tutorial here:

http://www.needlenthread.com/2007/02/chevron-stitch-video-tutorial.html

I've had heaps of requests for a long-and-short stitch tutorial, so I've been working on that this weekend, plus a couple other ones (coral stitch, fern stitch, and lattice work). As soon as I get 'er done, I'll let you know!

Thanks!

Hi, all -

I added another tutorial this morning - it's for lattice work, which can be used as a filling (to fill in any kind of shape) or as a background. It can also be used for decorative edges when worked in bands, etc. You can work it over a layer of filling stitches (like satin stitch or long and short stitch) or just right on top of the fabric (the concept is the same, either way).

I was working with untwisted (flat) silk in this video, so I also cover some techniques of working with this kind of thread.

The video's a bit long... and I'm glad it's finally finished!

Here's the link:

Finally! Another video tutorial.... kind of slow to crank them out, but here's one on the fern stitch. This is a great stitch for decorative bands or edges, and it's perfect for adding greenery behind a little flower or something of that sort. It's also makes great seaweed!

Here's the video link:

I hope you find it useful!

Hi, all! It's been a while since I've posted an embroidery stitch video tutorial - but - finally - here's another one to add to the list:

The Colonial Knot - http://www.needlenthread.com/2007/03/embroidery-stitch-video-tutorial.html

You can use the colonial knot the same way you use French knots, basically. It's slightly different in the way it's made, as you twist the thread around your needle in a figure eight.

The video has a few fingers in the way at first - with the first knot or so - but I run through about five knots on there, so by the end, you should have the hang of it!

Enjoy!
