My grandmother died when I was 2, so i dont really remember her. but i know she was an avid crocheter, and she used to make beautiful afgans. I decided for christmas that I would make my mom one just like grandmas, only with softer yarn (all of my grandmas were acrylic itchy yarn). I'm a pretty bad crocheter because I'm a lefty and I learned from a book, so I do it retarded Tongue. This took me about a month on and off.... i hope you like it as much as i do! it's not very big... i made it a lap blanket cause my moms lap is always cold.

Beautiful!  My Nana used to knit(she passed away this past August) and a few times she asked me do a crochet border on her stuff.  I love how crafts are shared and passed down within families.   I'm sure you mom will love, love, love it!  Grin

Wow that is beautiful I love the rainbow colors of it and to be left handed you did a pretty good job.

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

That is such a happy blanket! And a really nice thought behind it, too.

Retarded crocheters unite (or untie- sometimes I'm pretty dysfunctional)!
Great job on the blanket.  I love how bright it is.
