I have a few cigar boxes that I mosaic'd (is that a word?) for my twins birthday last June. I made hers into a jewelry box and stuffed it full of fun cheap jewelry. His got filled with small toy cars and helicopters and trucks.

I enjoyed this so much, I went mosaic crazy:

My daughter has asked me to do a large mosaic to hang over her bed. I'm not sure how to go about doing that since everything I've made so far is small. And there's the safety factor. Even those little 4"x5"s are kinda of heavy. Anyone have suggestions or maybe a site that could guide me in this?

Those alll look great from what I can tell in the images.

For bigger pieces, and especially those you want to hang, make sure you have very sturdy and secure hangers. Also make sure the wall can handle the weight. If it is a plaster wall make sure to use an anchor for hanging.

What kind of directions or help are you wanting? Perhaps I can help, but in the meantime here is a link for some basics:
