My mom has a very sweet miniature dachshund named Otto. Whenever someone shows her note cards or cute dachshund themed gifts, her response is usually "Yes, it's cute, but it's not Otto."

So, as a stocking stuffer this year, I decided to make her a set of note cards that ARE Otto. (Click images to enlarge)

I used photographs I've taken of Otto in the past few years and picked complementing colors for borders in Photoshop. I printed them out on card stock then cut and folded, which was simple yet time-consuming.

I decided I would try to make my own envelopes, based vaguely on this template. After I cut and glued them all, I affixed double stick tape under the flaps so they would work as peel and stick envelopes, which my mother prefers. I banded them together with a piece of scrap paper.

I packaged the cards and envelopes all up with a red ribbon and affixed a tag across the front. I hope she likes them!

Holy Weiner Dog!  Your cards are awesome!  Dachsunds really DO have individual personalities, and you really captured some great poses of Otto!  Your mom is going to go bananas for these cards.  What a thoughtful gift.  Smiley

Merry Christmas.

Those are great photos and the borders you chose really enhance them. They look like they came from a really exclusive stationary store, but actually - they are priceless!!
Your mother will be THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are great!  I loved how you matted and boardered them.  LOVE It (I might be biased though because I love doxie's too)

These are utterly adorable, and I think perhaps the most perfect present for your mother!!!

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection
