The only thread I found was ancient! Anyone still around from my area?  My 1st ? is... is there ANYWHERE within and hour of me to buy wool roving (or to learn to spin)? I have started felting and have to order everything online.

I am in St. Louis metro as well.  I am not sure where your at or how far or close to the city you are, but have you looked in or around Fairview Heights/Ofallon/Shiloh.  They are all connected and have a lot of different stores!

Thanks for the advice! I work in Fairview, and after checking around I discovered the "St Clair Fiber Guild" I have joined and they are an AWESOME group of folks totally willing to share their VAST knowledge of all things fiber related (yarn, wool, sheering, knitting, weaving, felting, sewing, spinning and everything in between!)

Oh wow!  I am getting into quilting and I myself am looking into gettin cheap fabrics!  I just we live in the same town too!  I am sure if you are from here then you probably know my husband and his family!
