OK....Back on track...company's gone and I have my house back...YEEPEE!!

Wow craftADDchick and Eveel!  Great job to the both of you!!  And Eveel I totally agree with craftADDchick.  Your items are gonna benefit more that you initially realized.

I only managed to get 2 scaves and 2 hats completed for Stand Up for Kids.

The March project is the Bereavement Blankets,  I have the blanket complete and I and making a little hat to match the blanket.  I will probably only get 1 blanket and hat complete before the April project.

I have edited the first page to give a link to local chapters of Afghans for Angels.  Plan to mail your donation to your local chapter.

So tell me, How is everyone doing?

Well, I bought the yarn for the bereavement blanket (Simply Soft in white), but I haven't had a chance to start it yet. Where does the time go?

I have 2 ideas for the April charity- one is an embroidered denim jacket, which might be a bit ambitious, conisdering my current rate of completion, and the other is a lamp made out of an appliance. I had a broken coffee grinder, but I seem to have lost the top, so I'll have to hit the thrift stores to see what else I can find...hopefully another coffee grinder...since I had it all planned out, right down to a coffee bean on the pull chain...

Hi everyone,
This is a great idea!  Count me in (indirectly) . . . I've got a bunch of teen magazine clippings (posted in the classifieds section) that I'd like to offer to anyone to make crafts with:  decoupage, ATC, etc.  Any takers?  Smiley

April is coming up fast (can you believe it??) and I just updated the information for the Habitat for Humanity auction.

And, I've already received the first donated item! Whoo-hoo! I'll be posting pics as soon as it is the "official" month!

I'm torn on what to make...
1) Decorate a denim jacket I have. Originally, I was going to embroider it, but I haven't done embroidery in ages and it probably isn't a good idea to use the jacket as a "refresher." So, I might attempt to make some fabric flowers and stitch them on with some funky ribbons and stuff appliqued on...maybe...
2) Make a lamp out of a small appliance...as soon as I hit a thrift store to get one...
3) Re-do a piece of furniture in some way...again, as soon as I hit a thrift store...

I'll just have to see what time and finances allow...

I got a great deal at the Salvation Army store the other day! I picked up a square, 2- shelf bookcase and an end table/nightstand with a drawer for only $4.99! I think I'm going to re-do the end table/nightstand and keep the other one for myself. I picked up some cool paper at the local art supply store and I just need to decide which one I want to use. Then, I think I'll paint the table, decoupage the top, and put a funky drawer pull on it.

And, if I have time, I may make a purse or tote bag with a matching zipper pouch. I'll have to wait for the paint to dry so I might as well work on something else in the meantime!

I've received a donation for the Habitat auction, and got word that another bundle of goodies will be on its way. My own creation is still in the trunk of my car waiting to be transformed. I need to do some sanding and painting, but with rain for most of my vacation, I couldn't go outside to do it. It'll be done by next weekend.
