Hey Batgirl, thanks for the Patina recomendation.  I finally went there the other day and I love it!  I picked up some cute Halloween stuff and coveted much of the jewelry.  I definately need to go back and get some cute earings...or a necklace, or a bracelet....

Has anyone been to crafts direct?  I saw billboards for it on my way to St Cloud yesterday.  It seems to be some kind of *gasp* outlet store for crafts.  This could be dangerous

Does "crafts direct" still exist. We had one in my hometown and then it turned into a Ben Franklin (swear words in my knitters head). I kinda assumed tha BF bought out CD. BUT, when the switch over happened NOTHING changed besides the sign on the door. So if youve ever been to a Ben Franklin, or a michaels...crafts direct will be nothing new.

I just moved away from Minneapolis (to DC for a year) and all this talk of the fabulousness that is the Twin Cities is making me so INCREDIBLY homesick.

I will second the nomination of Depth of Field... their discount loft is pretty cool.

I've driven by that Crafts Direct billboard many times as well and this thread reminded me to look it up.  The "Craft Mall" in Waite Park looks pretty much like a Michaels but a web search also found their outlet store in Minnetonka.

Any experiences with the outlet?  The prices online look decent.

Ive driven by it a couple times. (im in hopkins) im out sick today, im planning on driving to the ridgedale barnes and noble, if i go ill try and stop by le' outlet.

I would really love to find a local resource for bath and body supplies like shea butter, cocoa butter, oils, flavors, etc.  Any ideas?

Wedge coop had a couple of things I hadn't seen elsewhere but I'd love to find an actual soap or candle supply shop.
