I'm one of those dorks who reads Skymall magazines in airplanes, and when I saw this product advertised, I knew I had to share it with someone.
http://www.skymall.com/shopping/detail.htm?pid=102176487&c=10450 Aren't those the cutest? They're so summery and they don't seem to hard to make. My guess is you'd cut foam in the shape of a foot, cut 3 little holes, and glue foam strips to make the straps.

Well anyways, they're a bit out of season for anyone in the north (or antarctica) but I figured I'd share this cuteness with you all.

Those are really cute!!  I agree with your method of reproducing them.  Although out of season, you could use them in anticipation for summer!!

Foam would be good.

You could also do perler (hama) beads.

I was just thinking, if you like shoes (and who doesn't? Tongue) I bet there'd be tons of other styles you could try too. Clogs might work, or ballet flats if you wanted get serious. But yeah, if I ever make them, I'd definitely add flowers like they have and beads or something.
