A few people were looking for recycled ornament ideas and I had posted some ideas (rolled paper bead garlands, folded card ornaments, etc).  Someone passed this site on to me that had some pretty ideas too - a Christmas card moravian star (which could be pierced and strung with LED lights inside to light up, or embossed, etc) and a 3D cut out snowflake:

I love that 3-D paper snowflake!  I think my collection of corporate Christmas cards probably won't be bendy enough for that application, but I'll probably try it out with plain white paper for next year's decorations.

Very nice job.  I would like to make some after the new year - but I think I will experiment with lights and perhaps try to do a lighted garland for the window for next year.

Thanks for these links! Once I get home (tomorrow), I will have to unpack all my cards and see which ones will make a festive star Wink Plus, I love the 3D snowflake! I've got so much left over wrap that I know just what to do with it Cheesy

For years, I've been trying to locate instructions for making a tree skirt from recycled Christmas cards with no luck.  Dummy me, I think I threw away the instructions.  I had the directions for years and had not used them.  I think the instructions were from a craft magazine from about 18-20 years ago.

Crafting materials have increased greatly in the last 20 years, so the directions may be really outdated.

thanks.  catdaddytn    Cynthia
