blue_bunny inspired little necklaces..

well blue_bunny ( who is my muse, fo' real!! ) inspired me to make an octopus for a charm necklace. mine isn't half as awesome as her fimo red squid, but i like my cartoony octi! you can't see, but there is a hole at the top of his head for a o-ring to make into a necklace!

( i really hate this spam bot rule, i haven't posted much & i can only post  links... *sigh* )

the next little trinket i molded was a girly skull. i baked the crossbones first to shove em into the base. it didn't work out as well as i liked, but oh well... trial & error.

when i've done stuff with crossbones, this is what i usually do....
first, make the center part, whether it's a skull or a heart or whatever. take 4 little pieces of wire, and put a few kinks in each of them. push each wire halfway into the center thingy (a skull, herein, for simplicity) at the places where you want the cross bones to be. come to think of it, i guess you could just use 2 long pieces of wire, and push them in at an X configuration. either way, the results would be about the same...
then you want to sort of "parbake" the skull. it's probably a lot thicker than the crossbones, so it needs a little longer to cure anyway. but this way, it's a little easier to manhandle.
make your 4 crossbone pieces and stick them onto the ends of the wire sticking out of the skull, and mold them down around the kinks in the wire to make sure they are good and secure. i usually put a little dab of TLS down around the base of each crossbone so it looks seamless. then just finish baking.
