I'm using Socks that Rock lightweight and am halfway through the 2nd repeat.  It's coming out nicely now that I've figured rows 4 and 5.

more deets on my blog.

I'm loving this pattern.  I finished 5 repeats and am on the heel now as I tend to favor shorter socks.  Guess I'll have lots of leftovers...hmmm, baby monkey socks for my son?  Smiley

Julia, I really want to try Socks that rock, it's so beautiful (but expensive!!!).

I finished the first sock and I'm now on the 4th repeat on the second one.

I picked up this one skein at the grand opening of Purlescence, my LYS and now I wished I had grabbed a couple more...it's fabulous stuff.

I've turned the heel on my first sock.  Here's the link since the photo was ginormous.

All righty, finished one and a half- here's pics of the first one. MAN, it is HARD to take pictures of your own feet and do these socks justice.  Grin  They are gorgeous, this pattern was so fun and easy- and stunning!  I was a bit worried the yarn was too dark to really show off the pattern, and I think in pics it is, but in person, it's really pretty!

that Lorna's Laces colorway is gorgeous!  You're so speedy too! Did you see the pair that Kristi knit? http://www.knitanon.com/blog/archives/2007/01/01T222626

Also Lorna's Laces.

Oh, wow, that is a gorgeous colorway too!  The colors get me every time, that's what suckered me into socks in the first place!

I also had a TON of yarn left. I have at least a third of a ball from the first sock, definitely enough for a mini Monkey for my daughter!

Oh my god. I just saw this pattern and am in love. The only problem is that I've never knit socks before, so I'm a little scared. I've knitted numerous lacy shawls/sweaters before, and I've used DPNs many a time, but I've never ventured into sock-knitting. Would this be too hard for a first-time sock knitter?

I don't think so at all, particularly if you've done a lot of lace. It's a SUPER easy pattern. This was my first venture into any type of lace or pattern stitch, because I like to knit mindlessly. I was pleasantly surprised that this was pretty mindless.
It's only my second sock, I am a chicken (hence my name) and they are truly NOT hard. This would be a great first pattern!

I agree.  I had done very little lace before so I was nervous but this pattern was beginner friendly.  There are many good sock tutorials for you to read though and I recommend you look into the construction of the gusset/heel/instep which is the only tricky part.  The pattern itself expects that you already are familiar with that.
