Great scarf!  How long did it take to make it?  I would love a how-to on how to make it...I still need a gift for my husband's third son and he loves dragons.

Thanks for all the compliments Smiley I hope she likes it too! It only took 3 days to make. Like I said do some basic shaping, its all in garter stitch, and then for the spikey back ridge I used this pattern that someone suggested. http://scrubberbum.typepad.com/patterns/2004/10/dnosaur_hat.html

Did you knit this from the side or from an end? How many sts did you cast on to start with?  After looking at the original, I like the look of yours better.

I started with the shaping for the head which was about 14 stitches using homespun on size 10 1/2 needles. All decreasing and increasing was done one stitch in from the edge. I then increased for the torso and slowly decreased as the body became the tail. Once it was about the length I wanted I used a cable CO to cast on 5 stitches at the beginning of two rows for the tail's tip. Then gradually decreased to make it a triangular shape. I made the back ridge seperate and whipstitched it on. Hope that makes sense! There is still time for people to whip one up for Christmas, and the total cost was only like 5 bucks!
