I stared at that same trivet in a dollar store!  I knew there would be neat things to do with the pieces, but I left it there because I couldn't think of any that day.  Great job!

Wow! Thanks for all the compliments:) It's so nice to craft something that will be appreciated:). Most of my crafty stuff for family just gets stuffed in a closet:)-LOL. I bet ya'll know what I mean:)

A funny thing about the wooden hook thingie. When I bought it there was like 40 of them. Well, DH decides our son needs it in his room so I have to run back to get another about 5 days later-they only had 4 left! I have learned the hard way like this several times-if you see an amazing deal at a dollar store-buy it or buy several cause it will probably be long gone when you go back 

I love those wooden flat beady trivet thingies. I plan on buying more to make jewelry-I think they'd be fab with a woodburned design-funky and ethnic:)

That did occur to me, but it also occurred to me that mine would look less "funky and ethnic," and more "preschool wooden bead project for Mother's Day."  I'm not in preschool and my partner isn't my mum, so I figured it wasn't the way for me to go in this swap.

Me too!  I was so distracted by the dollar bologna last night that I had a hard time trying to figure out what I could do with things!  lol

It seems you all have more interesting stuff at your dollar stores. All the stores by me seem to carry a lot of cheesey Christmas things right now, but none the less I am still working with what I've got.
