Can I just say this about the tomato aspic, bobo? It does look lovely and Christmas-y, but I wouldn't eat it! 

I love the book, stiffly! Those black pages set off the cards so nicely. And the tomato holder is so cute. kaesea, you can fill it with recipes when you're making aspic!

Fine then you guys aren't invited to my Christmas dinner! 
To be honest I never really liked the aspic part much. I'd kind of pick out the shrimp and eat those. But really all it is is spiced tomato juice- the gelatin is pretty inert.

I can't believe that anyone has ever actually made tomato aspic. hehe. I thought since the steps of the recipe were numbered, they'd make good page numbers for the book.

The card holder is for displaying the ATCs in your kitchen, but recipes are a good idea, too!

The little ribbon with the bead is a bookmark, and I found the flash cards at the thrift store - there are some fabulous bacon ones in the pack, too.

Word to the wise - don't use $1 store sticky tape.

This a quote from way back on page three!  I got home a little while ago from my son's basketball game.  Between two kids playing basketball and one swimming for her high school team I am running almost every night!!

Anyway, I AM thrilled with the book and cards and hope to get some pictures posted tomorrow before I head out to do Christmas shopping.  (After the glass company comes to repair the huge storm window my dumb dog broke trying to get at a squirrel!!)

But that's another story.  Great tomato book Stiffy!

i saw the aspic recipe and about had a heart attack! someone (i think my great grandma) used to make aspic for holidays as well...i always remembered it being weird...but i would kind of like to have it again for nostalgia sake!
