What can I use to decorate and do up my deck this winter? I would love to build somthing to feed my squirl and chipmunk and bird freinds without feeding the skunks, cats, dogs, rats.... Im working on making things out there nice. Its about 5 foot long by 5 wide in the main section and 3 above the roof. This is a second floor deck/patio, where the stairs are. It looks like this:

Generally building the feeder up pretty high will keep out the dogs and skunks, but you will also keep out the chippymunks (they are my favorites, squeee). And, of course, if you make it squirrel-accessible then they will scare away all the birds. And there's very little you can do to protect against raccoons except making the openings veeeeeery small.

Maybe you should just put the feeder out there or fill it up with food when you are wanting to watch it? Otherwise it could be invaded by all manner of creatures.

THe birds usally go to my neighbors (downstairs) jeffies feeder. the squirls cant get to that one. I wanna feed the chimpmunks especally since I almost (GASP tear) almost killed one yesterday. I was trying to feed them on our shed roof (cause theres a tree there) and well, the squirl was there, sitting in the middle. I missed the roof, hit the squirl.
