Hello, my name is Katana, and I am an assasin!!
http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/1951/1311060418ek6.jpg
Sorry about the major cleavage shot, but I am definately drawing attention there instead of (why would i tell you what I don't want you to notice?)!! ha ha. But really if you want to know the hard part about sewing this dress, it's all right there. The straps are cut from an old tank top, but instead of using the little plasic thing to connect the adjustable strap to the other ribbon bit, I used an O-ring on both sides.
And the dress is basically two tubes with minimal shaping. (by minimal, i think they're sortof an a-line shape) hemmed top and bottom. the cleavage gathers are easy- it's just the extra fabric gathered and stitched to the center of the solid dress. then it draped down and I turned the whole deal inside out and stitched the backs together. so basically it's two tubes of fabric, sewn around the top excepting the part from the armpit to cleavage. This was a UFO for a long time, so I don't know how long it took me.
and it was for my birthday, and i keep editing it because apparently i can't do pictures right anymore!!

Very sexy. How long have you been sewing for? -- Your craftywork looks rather professional.
