I'd be interested in a centrally located Dallas craft group, but definitely not a "DFW metroplex" or "Dallas/Denton" group. All these cities (Arlington, Fort Worth, Denton, Dallas, etc) get lumped together, but they're really too far away from each other for it to be practical to expect people to drive an hour to get there.

Really, I must agree.  I think an Arlington/Fort Worth one would be sufficient.  And then Dallas can have a separate craft group.

I'd be interested in meeting up with fellow crafters. The only problem is I live on the north/east side of dallas (garland/richardson/plano) anyone who wants to meet on saturday (during the days) during this time can just PM me.

There's a really cool group of crafters that meets at the Stamp Asylum in Plano (Coit x Park in the shopping center with Elliot's).  We're called the Dallas Stampers, but stamping is just a small part of what we do.  We meet the first Monday of every month at 6:30.  There's always a demo to participate in.  There is also a swap if you want to do it but it's not required.  It's bring in 5 items (the same).  The store gets one, the demonstrator gets one and the others are swaped with whoever brought them.  You also get 10% off on all items in the store.  Either go by the store or go to the DallasStampers yahoo group.

Not that I'm aware of, but I'd like to keep the door open.  I'm also in the Garland/Richardson area.  I'd like to do what I can to try and get something started.  Let's plan something!

A new Dallas group is starting up . . . This is a group for Dallas-area artists or crafters who are interested in meeting people with similar interests, learning from each other, "field trips" to stores and galleries, learning new things, and participating in ventures such as shows, festivals, possible publications, and fundraising.

We're having a demo in glass fusing and jewelry making as our first meeting/event. Anyone who would like to can join! We're still working on getting a site up, but we do have a yahoo group.

Group name:    dallasartisanalliance
Group home page:    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dallasartisanalliance
Group email:    dallasartisanalliance@yahoogroups.com

Feel free to join the list or to email me personally if you have questions: erin.dezeeuw@gmail.com
