Hi All!

I have a tradition of making all of my Christmas presents by hand, which usually means crafting up until the last moment. I came up with this scarf as a simple, but still beautiful, project to modify for three close girlfriends of mine. Each will get a scarf in a different colorway. The tutorial is below - enjoy!

Cut a piece of (creamy white) polar fleece 5"x60". Cut "fringe" on each edge. I made cuts that are roughly 3/4-1" apart 1.5" long.

Cut circles from three coordinating materials - I chose to go light to dark with my colors and I used a spool of ribbon as a template, for a nice circle.

Play with your placement, and pin when you're happy.

Put in a crafty friendly movie, like Amelie, and start stitchin'!

Applique the circles by blanket stitching around the edges.

Use all six strands of embroidery floss to highlight each circle with a running stitch.

Voila! You're done. Easy, yet heartfelt, completely adaptable to anyone's style! I've (almost) finished three (the pink one doesn't have the running stitches yet) in two afternoons!

These are so nice! Easy, but they really look like something you would pay big bucks for. The running stitches add so much. Thanks for the tutorial!

I make lots of scarfs for everybody else, but never for me. But I love this one so much I think I'll have to make it for my own personal use. So original!
