Hey Craftsters!!

I just wanted to see if there was anyone else from Tulsa on these boards...I've only seen one other than myself Smiley I'm fairly new here so I'd like to know your favorite places to buy craft stuff. Are there good flea markets? thrift shops? I've been to a few here and there, but I'd like to know what your favorites are Smiley

craftly yours,

hey there! I'm in Tulsa!  I don't really know of any good craft stores around. I usually to Hobby Lobby or Joann's but am always looking for new places to shop.  my favorite yarn store (at 31st and Harvard, can't remember the name which is sad, i'm getting old) closed..

Anyway.. hi!!

yay! I'm glad another person from Tulsa is on here! I was starting to feel lonely.  Grin I love that thrift store on 15th...I think it's called Cheap Thrills. I had an 80s white elephant party over the summer and me and my co host got our costumes and all of our prizes there! Do you know of any other good thrift stores?

I live in S.E. KS but make it down to the flea market at the fairgrounds at least a few times a year. I really like it, I've found some neat stuff there. I think it's every Sat and Sun morning except in January- but I'm not sure.

My mom is a native Tulsan. I got my first dog at that flea market.  Grin

I haven't been this year, but it's generally not a junk type flea market- but I've heard it's been moving towards garage sale type stuff in the last year or two. Ether way, it usually fills two or three of the BIG buildings so I always find something.

My favorite resturaunt in Tulsa is Jamil's. Have you ever been there?

Oh the flea market at the fairgrounds is great.    I think they're only open on Saturdays now. Every time I want to go it's on a Sunday and they're closed

Though I once chipped a really expensive Baccarat vase and had to run away fast before the booth guy caught me. I'm afraid to go in there now, expecting to see my face on a huge wanted sign

ooh, i love Jamil's. mmm.. hummus.. yum.

I've never been to Jamil's. What kind of food do they have there? I'll have to have my boyfriend take me to dinner there sometime Smiley

It's primarily a steak house, but you also get hummus and tabouleh and veggies and things beforehand.  It's been awhile since I've been there though.  I remember always wanting garlic bread but not getting any. That might have been the only down side.

(hint: don't get wine there, they've been known to mix it with cheap vodka)

mix it with vodka?! I've never heard of such a thing! Do they have good desserts at this place? Because I'm a sucker for desserts (my damn sweet tooth  Grin ) Thanks for the tip!
