Whoo my first knitalong!

I'm going to be making it for my mom for Christmas with Knitpicks Superwash Delft Heather. I'll be swatching while at the laundromat tonight.

Digital Angel, I never knit swatches because I'm to impatient but this has resulted in knitting heart break in the past.  So, more power to ya!  This a great pattern and I'm sure you'll have fun!

I did mine! It's blue and green colourway chenille yarn that I love... I made fingerless gloves earlier this week that match. It looks and feels SO nice but SOOOO Warm. Good thing England is a cold country  And I'm another short hair here;) My hair's just reaching jaw length in a layered bob. I'll get a picture for the thread soon.

I cast on 60 stitches and did row five 7 times over. I did row seven 9 times over. Got that? Good. This is a VERY fluffy yarn so it just kinda.. grows as you knit. turned out perfect size. Good guestimation on my part. I didn't swatch

I love the chenille! It looks really soft and warm.    What size needles did you use with the chenille?

It's fantasticly soft and warm! Perfect for cold cold england. Err.. I was using 6mm needles, I don't know what that is in US sizing.

Luckily most needles in the US are marked with US sizes and metric, so you used a size 10 US.  I think I might have to go and get some chenille yarn because it is awful rainy and cold right now here in Virginia!

Here's mine, it's HUGE!  Though, thankfully, I'm also in the UK and I finished it just in time for the weather to turn decidedly autumnal! (fall-all? what IS the US equivalent?!)

Anyway, I did it exactly to the instructions, I got the right gauge with the same needles, but as you can so, it is indeed much larger than intended.  I've had a few compliments on it though, and the woman in my local cafe has now cast hers on too
