I've decided that these Calo's are like prostitution  Wink

you start off doing it because it seemed like a good idea
you start doing it for a few "friends"
you find once you start you can't stop

 Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

ha ha --you are so right--I can't stop!!  I am obsessed with finding stray lonely single balls of yarn suitable for this project--I think I do have one that will go with just about everything I wear now!!  Still want to do a few solid ones with ribbon and cotton ones for the summer...

itscute--I also do not like wearing mine without my bangs out front--I feel nakey...ha ha --I had the stylist cut my bangs a bit shorter just so I could wear my cals !  I think they do look flattering on most people because it does cover the forehead...

lovely job--more more more!

Thanks for the welcome! I can already see I'm going to quickly become addicted to this place.

hey jelly! See what happens when you give me access to cool crafty websites?

Almost finished with Calormetry two. I think I'll get it finished while I watch some new CSI tonight.

Alright, I've officially made four of these things now.  And now for my next experiment - Sugar 'n Cream cotton.  We'll see how that pans out.  I just can't imagine not having a Cal for Summer.  Oh, and my mom wants one.   Tongue

I should measure my head size, because I found the 80 stitch model too small (although I think it will be okay for my 12 year old niece).  96 seems to be the magic number for me.

I think for me too. I made a second Cal this weekend, deciding at the last minute to CO 96 instead of the 88 I'd intended, and it fit me perfectly; of course, as I was making it for someone else, it may be I should have stuck with 88. Anyway, I measured my head for a snood last year, and I think it was 23.5 inches.

I'm not sure about Cals being "addictive". They're an easy, quickie-gratification project and I plan to make a couple more, but I'm sure I can stop any time I want to.  Smiley

I made another!  I made this with a bulky-weight yarn, Moda Dea's Cache with 75% wool and 25% acrylic/poly.  They were selling it at Michael's for two bucks a 72 yd skein!  I bought 10 skeins: I'm a suckah for a bargain.  I knit it up on size 8's.  The fit is waaaayy better this time cuz I C0 100 and did 7 repeats of row 5.  I'm gonna make a matching moebius Smiley.
