I've been throwing around different costume ideas for this year. In another post I was really inspired to be a troll. I dont know if I will be a crazy troll (like the kind with bright pink hair) or a village troll that is more homemade looking. Either way....I am looking for any links/ideas to get started as I would like to make as much as I can.
btw...do trolls have pointy ears or is that just elves?

You make it sound like they're wildlife

some norwegian troll facts:
they can take off their heads (and carry them under their arm)
they turn to stone if sunlight hits them
they're u-g-l-y

Personally, I think it would be way easier to be one of those neon headed rubber troll-doll type trolls - a little brightly colored funfur for the hair, a ragged hemmed dress, bare feet, pointy ears, and you're done!

Oooooh, but how cool would it be to be a 'been out in the sun' stone troll?  You could make your costume look like stone.  Maybe get a black or brown body stocking and fleck it all over with paint, and make an outfit out of stoney looking fabric.  Then paint your face and hands to match.
