I just finished making this apron for my mom as a Christmas present.  She rarely asks for anything, so when she asked me if I could please make her a pretty apron for cooking, I set out on my mission!  My mom loves to cook and entertain, and I wanted to make her something she would love to wear while cooking and visiting with guests at the same time.

Her request was that it not tie at the neck.  So here it is...

And here I am modeling it... please excuse the pregnant belly.  The apron should lay better on my mom...

Comments and questions are welcome  Grin.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I think Mom will be pleased.

Thanks! Grin

Divabunny - I just winged it.  I drew the apron shape out on newspaper first to get the size right.  Then I finished all the seams.  Made and attached the neck piece and the waist ties next.  Finally, I created the ruffles with 3 contrasting fabrics and attached them to the apron.

That is AWESOME.  Hmm, I might make one sometime.  I love how it's not traditional, the ruffles are so cute.

LOL that's so adorable! I think a lot of moms are being bit by the apron bug because my mom asked me 2 weeks ago to make her one.

The brightest, almost obnoxious fabrics are the best ones to use haha
