Hi,

This is my Taj Mahal snow globe completed for my partner's India theme in the Altoid Tin Swap - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=129115.180

I've been asked to post some extra info on it so I started this thread
The recon altoid tin (video on last img so give it a minute to load):

I made the inside by scanning an old vintage image, resized, tinted it, waterproofed it then superglued it.

The snow and glitter combo were tested in the jar first, less is more when it comes to this e.g. 1 teaspoon. Finally, I superglued the jar to the tin, then decorated in the style of the content. Hope you like...

I really love this!!  Smiley

I'm tempted to make them as holiday gifts this year.  Not sure what image I would use in them though, perhaps personalize them to each individual.

Thank so much for sharing!

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

Thanks for your encouragement girls, I wanted to reply last night but my puter was moody.

Sweets4ever Smiley Personalising is the way to go and I already have a gift planned for my sister and friends involving Photographs and a poem.

Annam, thanks for the "feat of engineering" quote! It was fun, frustrating and fun again when it finally came together.

Diedie, ta again for digging the design, Paisley's more from Persia but as India adopted it I thought it suited my partner's theme.

Bubba*tink, the video was quite easy, shoot for a few seconds, upload to puter and convert it to a gif. (this way it breaks the video into frames) Make sure you shrink it otherwise the file is massive.

I want to make more and post them here Smiley
