My mom(she's also a member on here) just sent me the cutest crochet items in the mail! First is one of those adorable lil' christmas trees with beads for ornaments. She also added the cutest lil' star on top. Next we have a door knob hanger with a bell and a door knob cover in christmas colours but it also has a gold thread through it. Very purdy!
So here's to crafty mothers(i dunno how she could doubt her crafts!)! I'm sure she and I would appreciate comments.... Wink

The little christmas tree is great!  I love the bright playful beads!

And I have seen many things covered in crochet, but never a doorknob - fun idea!

I love handmade gifts. My best friend is actually out of a job right now so her and I are making every gift we exchange. I hope she likes what I made. I went crazy...and I bought her some supplies. Yay!

I like the tree so much, it is now on my list of things I want to make. About how tall is it?

Your mom has no reason to doubt her work. I hope you or she will share more of it.

Thats very sweet of you to say. I would guess it sits about 5 inches tall. Smiley

You're all very kind in your comments(and I admit my self confidence needs it Roll Eyes) but I must tell you that a Craftster member BeaG first posted the crocheted tree idea here!  I don't remember now where the tute on this is on the boards but here's the photo link to her original tree design.  She used white buttons, nobbly green yarn and a pearl bead atop it, sooo cute.  I had more coloured wooden beads around than white buttons so I went my route.  This is where you can see the original trees:

BeaG gave more guidelines than a stitch count/pattern.  These are fun to make. The wooden beads came from $1 store or Walmart kid's crafts, and the star was part of a set of 8 assorted to be used for earrings or charms (in beading section Walmart).  I think they go better atop these trees than in jewellery.

Tinsel Cheesy

I printed off her original comments/instructions so I can reprint them here if need be. Grin Of course SMART ME didn't print off the LINK to her instructions--ARGH. Roll Eyes  Maybe a verrrry clever mod will come along and find the link for me--hint hint. Wink

FOUND IT!! TA DA TA DA TA DAAAAA! Grin  Go here and enjoy! I made mine with regular worsted so to avoid fibrefill showing through the holes I used a smaller hook, made the tree firm and stitch tighter.
