WoohoO!  I thought that one was going to be tough, but I snagged it!

I did the same thing I did here:
Awesome!! Cheesy

Here's how I found it.
  • Clicked on "Advanced Search"
  • Used the most basic, but what I thought were the most important keywords, possible:  knit wrap twist img (I searched with img because that would only return posts with IMAGES or occasionally a word or two with img in it)
  • Selected "Show results as messages" so I could see the search results and save myself some clicking
  • Selected the Search order as "Most recent topics first" because I guessed that you had seen it semi-recently
But this time I searched with the words... img ribbon bead necklace

It gave me 3 pages of pictures, so then all I had to do was scroll down through and look for a picture that, hopefully, matched your description. Cheesy

I could swear I saw a pattern on here somewhere for a double-knit Harry Potter scarf but my searches only turn up the bookmark pattern.  Any ideas?

I did a quick search, and there are SO many!
Here's one

Why don't you search for 'Harry Potter IMG scarf pattern' and see what you come up with?  There were just SO many it would be silly of me to post the links for you...I'm sure you'd know it when you saw it!

okay, I did a bunch of searches and only a few are likely... theres this one: Its not a tutorial for this specific scarf (this one was made using the double knit method) but maybe..?

Another one made using double knit, but no pattern: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=21827.msg177863;topicseen#msg177863

and this ones just a tube scarf:

was it any of those, perchance?
