This is my biggest project to date and i'm VERY proud of it (mostly just proud that I finished it!)  Its a Christmas gift for the boyfriend, I can't wait to give it to him!!!

And here's another, more festive shot of the blankie posing with my christmas tree:

I love it!!!!!!  You did a great job, I have been wanting to make this but I'm afraid I would get bored too easily.  How long did it take you?

thanks!!! it DID take forever . . . i ordered the yarn in mid September and finished last friday.  i did tons of other projects in that time though . . . i had to keep putting the blanket away so the boyfriend wouldn't see it or suspect anything Smiley  in total i estimated it took about 20 hours (4 minutes or so per square and then 3 solid evenings sewing it together)
two bits of advice if you make it: firstly, if you use the wool ease, i needed two skeins of white (all of the other colors worked out fine with one).  secondly, the book tells you to leave a long sewing length for assembly - but the sewing lengths don't end up on the corners of the squares.  this makes it awkward to use them to sew pieces together (you end up w/ a one inch or so gap at some edges that you have to tie in extra yarn in to sew up)  if i had it to do again, i'd finish off all of the squares and use my leftover yarn in long pieces to sew up the seams.
good luck, if you try it! it wasn't hard, just time consuming Smiley
