Last Christmas I was broke (funny how things haven't changed lol) so everyones gifts had to be hand made. I found this pattern - http://www.wyrm.org.uk/cuddly/
And then I customized the wing panels to suit every persons personality. This is the one I made for my boyfriend at the time -

Your dragon is adorable! I love the contrasting fabric under his wings, it adds such a great finishing touch. Great job!

Very cute. Gonna see Eragon? I don't know how I feel about that movie. It doesn't look like it's going to be great.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks Smiley The pattern really isn't that hard. I made the first one out of material from old jeans so that if I messed it up I wouldn't be too upset.

Once I got the hang of it I was able to sew them very fast. The hardest part is sewing along the back with both wings pinned in place. It's very thick and extremely difficult to do via machine so I just hand sewed that section.

I wish I had a picture of my Mom's dragon. I made it with shimmery purple fabric in the wings. It looked gorgeous!

That's true of most movies made from books. My friend couldn't make it past the first chapter of Eragon, said he couldn't get into it, but I think I'm going to borrow it and see if I fair better.

The first two chapters are a bit slow. But once you get into it it's really worth it. Some people just are impatient. Wink

Funny thing, my hubby got his copy of Eragon from his cousin who never made it past the first chapter.  I agree that once you get past the first chapters, it's hard to put down.  I can't wait for the third one to come out.

I actually have pretty high hopes for the movie.  It's not done in Hollywood, where IMO they try to chop up a good book and end up with a not so great movie.  I also just think that the books will translate well to screen if the director dosen't try to put too much of himself into them.  Which seems to be the case of bad book to film transitions.

Cute Dragon!! As for Eragon, saw it last night and walked out upset, I don't know how chris paolini would let them do that to such a great story!
