I haven't taken any but I know the Vancouver School Board Continuing Ed offers quite a few sewing classes: http://www.continuinged.ca/courseinfo.htm?group=501,525

Hope that helps!

from my knowledge- Seamrippers is making a come back- (since losing their brick and mortar on pender) They will be starting up a bunch of 'travel' d.i.y. workshops in various spots around town this Spring (including some sewing maybe?)  Perhaps that might be of interest to you?

I want to learn sewing too. I am beginner. What I mean beginner is, learning how to put the thread into the machine.

I checked out the Seamripper website, they don't have sewing class. School board has some sewing beginner class, but it's not very helpful.

I know there is just no easy way for sewing. But at least I want to learn to READ A PATTERN, so that I can buy pattern from fabric store and sew it. I want to able to do sewing independently. I think the only way to learn sewing for beginner, the class has to be small.

And learning to sew, it's not only for cosplay. I really want to wear something that "fit" me (my size). I cannot find office-work-clothing that will fit me.
