Ok, so not a football fan myself, but my BIL is. And for Christmas, I will attempt something I've yet to try. Sew a blanket/throw for him, in his team's (the Beavers, OSU) colors. It's in no pill fleece, (at least, I think it's called fleece), one side orange, one black. However...and this is where I'm coming to you all for.... it's just plain, solid colors. I was hoping to figure out something to do to embellish it. The obvious thing would be a patch/applique of some sort, but I can't get any Beaver patches. I also struck out on getting Beaver printed...anything really. So...suggestions? I don't want to give a boring blanket lol.
Oh, he's a man's man, not into frilly things. It can't contain any form of wool (allergies!) and has to be baby friendly. I think that's about it.
I look forward to your suggestions, and thank you in advance for your help Smiley

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

what about something like this?

with a simplified beaver or something instead of the snowflake.

i have no idea what the beaver logo looks like, but this might work for you.

http://www.osubeavers.com/ might be useful to know, huh lol

Hmm, it's an idea, though I'm not sure how I'd go about that....

ok, the logo isn't too bad, lol, but with my sewing skills i wouldn't attempt it,

how about:

on the black side:  cut out letters in orange and spell Beavers! sew them on using zig zag stitch.

do the same on the other side, using the opposite color scheme, still not really fancy, not quite as plain, and not too hard to do.

I am a knitter at heart, and sew fast sew easy is a company that has tried to sue several knitting groups and websites for using the term stitch and bitch, which is a teerm that has been used since at least the 1930's probably earlier, way before they started using it.

see this link for more details:
