I am making hand made picture frames but am having a problem with the stands, or easel back and how to attach it to my frame.  I am using binders board and attaching glass to the front.  Then on the back I put the stand (also made of binders board).  I can't figure out how to attach it and make it stay. If you look at store bought frames they have this small metal piece that attaches the frame to the stand.  THATS what I am looking for, or some other way to permanately attach the stand.  Any ideas???  Here is a picture of the front of the frame if that helps!  I have been to Hobby Lobby and Michaels.  No luck!  Thanks for the input.

I don't have any brilliant ideas for the easel back, but I did want to say, that's a beautiful idea for a frame--I love it!!!

Strips of fabric?  Maybe ribbon so 2/4 edges are finished.  You could melt the ends, or rely on glue to prevent fraying.

Then glue.  Something clear and sturdy, doesn't matter if it soaks through as long as it soaks through evenly.

I'm nor sure I understand about the fabric- I am trying to attach the stand (cut from binders board) to the back of my frame.  It has to be a sturdy attachment or the frame will not stand up- it will collapse.  How would fabric keep it from falling? Huh  Thanks for the idea, though!

I'm nor sure I understand about the fabric-

Maybe jaded meant using the fabric/ribbon as a way to "hang" the frame.....as a possible alternative to the easel back???

No, I meant using the fabric as a hinge, such as with a hardcover book... when they used to be covered in fabric, ha ha.

It needs to be secure, but it doesn't need to be firm or limiting like the hinges on commercial frames.  To stabilize the stand (creating the triangular support shape, you would attach another piece of ribbon along the bottom (triangle has all 3 sides instead of just the 2).

Does that make sense?  I hope so but I'm tired : )

OOOOOOHHHHH!  I get it Wink (coffee hadn't kicked in yet...) Yes, that could work- I like the idea of another piece of ribbon to keep it from falling back.  I will get on this and try it.  Thanks again- love to bounce ideas off everyone!
