This crochet challenge was a series of firsts! My first post of a project, my first challenge, the first time I've ever changed colors in crochet, the first time I've ever increased stitches, my first Amigurumi and...I think that's it!

Since I don't know how to upload to Photobucket, and I'm supposed to be leaving the house in about 15 mintes and I'm stilll in my PJs, I'm going to post the links to the images just to be safe...I hate to do this, but I am going to be gone all afternoon and won't have time to figure it out! But I will when I get home...

Hopefully, you can see my pics of Marvin the Martian! When I first read about this challenge (a week ago!), I wondered what to make. Then, when I finished reading what amigurumi was and what the characteristics were, I looked at Marvin sitting on the printer and knew I had to create him in amigurumi!

And...I know this is supposed to be COMPLETED projects for the challenge, but Marvin isn't fully stitched together (his head) and I haven't trimmed the ends... Grin

Those eyes are perfect! Really well done, especially for all those firsts. Now he just needs a little ray gun ...

Thanks, vanillaxlight! I wouldn't have attempted this without your encouragement (and helpful tutorial sites!). I'll probably fix a few things (like his helmet) and if I ever find bigger eyes (they are plastic ones), I'll take his head off and put new eyes in (and then stitch his head back on!!).

And marleah, I love the ray-gun idea! I'm definitely making one. I'll put a spot of velcro on it so I can take it off if I need to (if I bring him to school to show him off, he can't have a gun on him  Wink ).
