While on my quest to make a hoodie, I ran into a particularly intriguing Christmas turtleneck. I don't usually wear turtlenecks and haven't for years. But this one was begging to be something else. "Put a zipper in me!" it begged.

So months later, I've done it and made my first successful item of clothing that I will wear the hell out of.

I love that I can wear it on my shoulders or off them... Now I need a matching  red scarf and hat Cheesy

Everybody likes pink. People who think otherwise are in denial.

This is a great idea! I have several turtlenecks that I like the fabric/color, but don't especially like turtlenecks (they were cheap).  I'll definitely get more use out of them this way.  Smiley

Did you buy a size bigger to allow for seams, or is it just a bit tighter than it would have been as a turtleneck?

The turtleneck was an okay fit originally, but I despised the neck and how loose the sleeves were. I guess it was a little bigger on me, but I really don't know how turtlenecks are supposed to fit since I haven't worn one since I was about 8 lol. So I just cut out the seams from the bottom of the torso and out to the sleeves. After that I just pinned the torso according to my measurements, sewed the seams. And after I had it on me again, I pinned the sleeves around my arms. That was the hardest part. I wish I had someone to help lol.

It's pretty straightforward, because if it wasn't, I wouldn't be able to pull it off! :p But if anyone wants a tute, I'm due to make another trip to my thrift store and see if I can find anymore treasures :p
