Spiraled Windchine from a Xylophone

[Windchime]

Inspired by the first children's xylophone windchime (and my own obsession), I made my own version.
Materials:
children's xylophone
the inside hoop of an embroidery/cross stitch thing (the one that keeps the fabric nice and tight in the area you're working on)
fishing line
20 crimp beads
Swarovski crystals
wooden bead (for the top to bring the four top strings together where you hang it...It can't be seen in the pictures.)


Sorry, guys, rules prevent me from posting the picture directly because I did not post 10 times in this forum.

I guess that the pictures are pretty self explanitory as far as attaching the bars to the fishing line and stringing a matching crystal over it.
I used crimp beads to attach the fishing line to the hoop. Make sure to get it nice and tight or the chimes will slide around too much and all end up on one side--but don't worry it's easy to secure it tightly.
I then cut four more lengths of fishing line (you can use your judgment) and attached them to the hoop as well with crimp beads.
Then I strung a wooden bead over those four and tied a knot when the weight was evenly balanced.  I pushed the bead a little over the knot, and then I tired a knot at the top of the four strings to make the loop to hang the windchime from.

Try ebay. I don't remember when, but I saw a cheap Target-brand one a while ago. It's summer so keep on the lookout at garage sales.
