Some other things I came up with included a knitting or crochet needle roll, decorated cards/book (like for recipes) for all those looseleaf patterns you pick up from friends and family, project bag for on-the-go crafters.  I saw on the Handspinners/crafters swap (I think) that someone had made a drop spindle from a piece of dowel and an old CD that didn't burn properly too.

I really want to join, but I'm kind of self conscious about my spinning skills. I just got my wheel and have only made 2 skeins Sad

Sign up, sign up!  Beginner yarn is "designer" yarn! Cheesy  Someone will love a skein of chunky, extra twisited, pull-apart yarn (or however you find you're spinning at the moment).

YES!  YES, listen to her Grin  The more the merrier, and I know that I love beginner yarn.  Mine's rather boring at the moment...

Heh.  That is the truth, for sure.  I'm a new spinner, too, so we can have swap anxiety together.  Smiley

is this for wheel spinners specifically because of being able to tell the twist etc, or can spindle spinners join too?  because if i get my other swaps cleared up and have ROOM for more swapping and can get some roving in time i would totally sign up...but i dunno if my spindle-y-ness would be fine or not...

I imagine it should be fine - a lot of times you can tell the twist by looking at the yarn - you can see what direction the fibers are twisting in.

eeeiiiii, I signed up!  I shouldn't have, because I'm moving in less than a week, but I couldn't help myself!  My husband is going to kill me!  I bought a new spinning wheel, I want to use it, so it'll be worth it!
