Hey everybody...
We're survivors of Hurricane Ivan and are proud owners of lots and lots of shingles from our roof.

Any ideas?  Huh

I'm from P'cola also. (I responded to a post about thrift stores, too)  I hope the rest of your place is okay.  Where are you that you have power?  None of my friends or parents have power yet.  They are in NE P'cola, East Hill, North Hill and Milton.  Since you can get online have you taken a look at the pictures at www.pensacolanewsjournal.com?  If you havn't then you should.  I'm in California and it is so sad and sickening to see my hometown demolished like that.  I feel very helpless out here with all my friends and family suffering.  I was just there a couple of weeks ago and wish I could be back home to help out.
Back to the subject, I'm sorry but I have no ideas about what to do with roof shingles!  If I think of anything I'll let you know!  Good luck!!

hey, thanks for the concern for us Pensacolians!  Actually, I'm in Navarre (just East of Gulf Breeze) and we just got computer privvies yesterday.  Trust me, it's been a mad dash to the computers. lol...a bunch of my friends out here are still without power, but the power folks are working really hard to get it back on.  Well, as for my parent's house (where I live most of the time)- the roof issues and leakage were the biggest of the problem.  We had a felled tree and about a block's worth of debris, but otherwise, we're doing okay minus the lack of clean water.  The Red Cross and Coast Guard have been handing out free meals and MREs and water and stuff (haha...I'm crafting with the boxes the food comes in), so it's been really community driven.  Very cool.  My other friends here haven't been so lucky, what with their apartments being taken out by tornados and their roofs caving in...but it's so cool to see neighbors helping out.  People have been so friendly and helpful...honestly, I'd have to say that besides the deaths, this hurricane has actually been HELPFUL to our local society.  Crazy, no?

Anyways, take care out there...I LOVE California (<3 San Diego...ahhhh)...
