Okay, I've been here for six months now, and have yet to find a knitting group.  So, I'm ready to start one if need be. The main problem is I don't have any idea of where a good place to hold one would be.

I asked around at the yarn shop on 13th, the needlepoint shop at the market and got nothing to go off of.  I tried to go to the one that is allegedly at UO but no one was there.

Are you a member of a group already?  Do you know of a good place to have a meet? Is Eugene just not a friendly place, and I need to go back to Texas?

There is one in Eugene for the UO. Contact Fyberduck (on here), she heads it  up. They usually meet late afternoons on Sundays, I think...something like that. I never make it myself, as that's usually when I'm in bed lol.
Also, Ben Franklin's by Gateway does "Yarn Yoga" on Friday evenings, I think...5-7pm or something? Ask about it.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

The UO Guild meets on Sundays from 6-8pm in The Buzz currently. The reason no one was there when you went by is that there's rarely anyone in the office anymore because of people graduating. More info here: http://geocities.com/uohandweavers/ No meeting next weekend [the 10th.] Obviously I am a member Smiley

There's also Madame DeFarge's Knitters who meet on Monday evenings although I can't remember off the top of my head where and when exactly. The girls keep trying to get me to go with them but I work early on Tuesday mornings right now so it doesn't fit into my schedule as well.

And we are friendly. I promise. We just don't check this board very often. Smiley

Thank you, TheBon.  I had gone on Tuesday per LiveJournal's UOStitchnBitch.

Of course, timing is everything, and I seem to have missed this semester, but I'll shall be there in the New Year. I'm rather excited, (as is my husband)!!!!!

We're meeting again on the 17th, but we'll be meeting at my apartment since The Buzz will be closed until the 2nd [all of the EMU is closed from the 22nd to the 2nd.] It'll be 6-8pm so send me a pm if you want directions to my place, I don't want to post them here [for obvious reasons!]

I'm not familiar with the UOStitchnBitch from LiveJournal. Perhaps a link?

They're also on thefacebook (as is the USFG), Bon Grin  ... actually, the UO has, like, 4 knitting/ crocheting groups on thefacebook - tho one isn't a public group and one is specifically hosted thru the LGBTQA (did I get all the right letters in there?).

And, since I'm on a roll - there are three other knitting groups in Eugene that I know of.  Madame DeFarge's Knitting Club (they meet every Monday at Perugino's); the Eugene Knitter's Guild meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month in The Knit Shop (or, they did last year); and there's also the unofficial The Strand Knitters (I have absolutely no idea what they call themselves despite having knit with them several times) who meet every Thursday in The Strand building on the corner of 8th and Charnleton.

And we, the USFG, totally don't bite!  I swear Grin

I dug them up. Thanks S!

And LGBTQA is all of the letters in the right order.

Speaking of which, you guys might be able to convince me to meet you for Madame DeFarge's on occasion starting in January. Hold me to that.
