Do you ever get an idea in your head that you just can't make come out on paper?  Well, here's what I ended up with, but it doesn't match what I had planned.

A Queen of Spades scanned and printed black and white.  A crossword puzzle scanned and and shrunk to fit the center of the card.  I painted ever other square red.  A plastic button that looks like brass with a crown and a 'royal' crest.  little pieces of ribbon glued onto the design of the queen.  My 5-letter word is queen cut from foil and glued on a piece of post it.  Black in is used around the sides of the card.  Fortune glued on the side of the card.  And the 2 little spades are cut from brown paper bag.

Thanks gals.  I guess, lately, when I move away from fabric, I feel out of my element (which is odd because my background is in painting).  And yes, the button is threaded  Smiley.

Sindy- I really like it!

At first I was gonna say Sindy cheated by using a metallic pen for her "queen" lettering and then i read it's tin foil!!! Well, I am thoroughly impressed Sindy! Good job!

I can't believe you cut that out of tin foil! That's just nuts.

Well, I did kinda cheat -- IF you believe I sat here and cut out those letters by hand!!  I have a Sizzix so that was like the easiest part.

I think cool tools are what makes the world go round. Cheesy
I wondered what people used those for, now I see how fabulous they are. I love the lettering.
