Shugrbee & me used the same Japanese paper, magazine jeans ad, ad for coffee, and bookmark for New York University to make our cards independently.

Here's what I made. The caption for the 2nd one says "Try as he might the white man could not fit in. The little hut in the 6th one is on fire (so it is about earth, water, air and fire). In the 8th one the cactus revolutionaries are speaking their own nonsense, I mean cactus, language.

And after, we got to trade. Shugrbee gave me her 5th & 8th ones which are nice & floaty.

(this is my very 1st posted project!)
(Shugrbee helped me not make newbie mistakes)
(blame her if i did  Wink)

And here are my cards from the same materials as what eloiseinmoscow used! She traded her #3 and #9 with me.

My little sister was also in on this with us so once she's done, we (or hopefully, she - if she ever signs up on Craftster) will post them!

Wow.  Those cards are amazing!  Both sets are really great, and although they are totally different, you can kinda' see similar elements.

What a wonderful idea for project (or a personal swap).  Person A sends a few things to person B, and vice versa, and you have to make cards out of whatever you end up with, and maybe then exchange them!!!!!  [Katxena wanders off to to plot....]

Thanks!

In our case it was made a little bit easier by the fact that we're friends and live close by to each other but yeah, it could work really well just sending the same paper that you have to someone and doing it like that. We did each have a tiny bit of japanese paper that was diff't from the other person's....

What great cards!  So colorful and different. Smiley  That is such a great idea, I think it needs to be a swap. Really. Maybe made of things people could get easily?

Plot away, kat!

(I swear I'm not stalking either of you--katxena or OY--at least not right now! LOL I got here through Recent Posts With Pics!)

very cool idea!  I see a swap possibly with very commonly available elements-say a certain issue of a magazine/specific paper colours/household items (coffee filters, candy wrappers, etc.)  How great that you all are close enuff to do this

This is so funny: I have been plotting a swap very similar to this idea (ask amaryllisroze if you don't believe me!) It's really fun to see what different people come up with using the same elements. You both did wonderful cards. I love seeing your unique style in your sets.

That's awesome! I would totally love to do a swap of this kind! (I just hope it's not in February 'cause I'm going to China for a few weeks and probably won't get much crafting/art done!)

You know what those quantum physicists say - once you put the idea out there, it's there for other people to grab and build on (even if they don't have knowledge of your idea!)
