Hi all

I just found out that I'll (probably) be going to Hong Kong tomorrow. Does anyone know about wool/yarn shopping there? I'm only really interested in buying yarn (maybe needles). Anything special, or any good sock yarn? I've only been able to find three colourways from one brand here in Auckland. So sock yarn or nice yarn or beautifully-coloured/extra-soft yarn tips from anyone familiar with the area would be drastically appreciated.
Thanks
Sarah

Last time I was in Hong Kong was in 2004. Their public transportation all uses the same card system, so if need be, explore! Smiley

I can ask my Aunt who's lived there for probably 25+ years.  How long are you there? maybe I can get you an answer in time... (She used to knit when I was little--my first knitting memory! Going home with a personalized Hello Kitty sweater; what girl wouldn't love that!?).

It won't be my first time there I'm not worried about getting around alone. I'll probably be there for three-five days and now it looks like it'll be at a later date, not tomorrow. Anything with wool I can't get in NZ would be worth visiting. I can get some Debbie Bliss, Jaeger, Noro etc. here from a special importer, but not Malabrigo, which I've heard is great, and the Aussie Patons I can get seems to be different from the stuff I hear you guys discuss as Patons. Never seen Cascade here. I found some info on wool shops there carrying 'Grignasco', who's heard of this?
And there are apparently lots of Japanese wools available there, is Japanese yarn similar to Western supplies in range/types/quality etc, or is there some general difference?
Thanks guys
Sarah

Found this webpage with HK yarn shops listed. I haven't used the map tool before. But it looks helpful.

I wonder if H.K. has any deals on cashmere?
