I've been watching all the Harry Potter swaps and thought it'd be fun to narrow the swap theme a bit.  Anyone interested in doing a Hogwarts Houses specific swap?  Each participant would choose their favourite House (Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin) and be assigned a partner to craft for from a different House.  Aside from the House scarves and uniforms, there's all sorts of other possibilities.

Am I completely insane, or not?

Yes!!

p.s. Can we do it after Christmas? If we do it then I can most likely make another house quilt.

I am, I know Wink  Oh, this would definitely be after the holidays (New Year's included in there, too), but it's encouraging to know there's interest!  I have to admit, I have an ulterior motive - I want some cool Gryffindor stuff to wear to the next Harry Potter movie!  And, although Slytherin is supposed to be my arch-nemesis or whatever, I really want to make some Slytherin gear for someone else Grin

I am not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I have read the books (except Half Blood Prince) and seen the movies.

Who can resist the idea of Hogwarts and the houses? According to my temperament I am a Ravenclaw but most of my friends love Gryffindor (there is one contrary girl who insists on Slytherin!)

This swap is full of crafting possibilities!

I'm free to organize after the New Year, which seems to be the optimal time for everyone.

I would be interested - but would it be OK if it was for my son?  I would be doing the reciprocating crafting, but he would be the receiver...

I think that would be fine.  I know tons of craftsters that include bits and bobs for their partner's children for fun Wink

Do not be fooled by my very small amount of posts, I would be seriously interested in this one.

One question. I'm about to make something with Slytherin colors, since I have time for it right now, so...would it be too complicated if we were sort of able to make general requests as far as who we're partnered with? They wouldn't be set in stone, since that could make things very, very difficult for the organizer very, very quickly, but...yeah.

I'm very excited about this, and I'm not even all that into HP. A delayed start date would be perfect: then I wouldn't risk taking too long to finish something. I'm a good swap partner, I promise: sometimes projects just take me a little longer than I thought they would, so fast-approaching deadlines scare me just a little.

I'll be paying close attention to this thread.

I don't know about "requests", but generally we answer some sort of questionairre and are matched up accordingly. I'm sure if you put that you would prefer to craft stuff for a certain house it wouldn't be a problem. and I would assume that if you worked it out with someone else who was in the swap beforehand, the organizer shouldn't have a problem putting the two of you together! and if you can make cool slytherin stuff, I hope you pick me! lol

and mid-jan is perrrfect! I'm so siked!

Ah man. I just couldn't wait: I've already knitted a set of wristbands and a scarf, and I went out and got a tray and a tote bag and a shirt (which may or may not be the wrong size, depending on who I get in the swap) to decorate. I know, I'm royally screwed if I get someone who doesn't want Slytherin stuff, but I have free time and all my crafty stuff is out from making Christmas gifts, and I've Just Gotta Make Stuff!!

So I'll just have to either be prepared to scrap all this stuff or hope I get the right house. ^_^

I can't wait!
