Hey everyone,

I just spent the last couple hours trying to find stuff by indie designers to put on my Christmas wist.  I really don't want to go the corporate route and ask for stuff from urban outfitters or anthropologie, but I'm having trouble finding indie stuff that I like. So I thought, who better to ask then all you crafty guys and gals?  Also, I'd love to wist lesser known bands, so if you know of any great local bands please link to their sites, too.

I'll start us out with a couple links:

Here's a So-Cal band I like: The Coral Sea
And here's a site that sells great shirts and bags: Lucha Workshop

*changed the title in hopes of getting more attention*

ok, I feel like I'm talking to myself, but here's a couple sites I found that seem pretty cool.

This one has a bunch of indie designers selling mostly clothes and jewelry: Indie Shopper

And this blog has a holiday gift guide (scroll down a ways to see it): Design Sponge

Ooh. I love the crazy fun jewellery at www.ladyluckrulesok .com and www.rubydixie.com

I would die for a corset from www.sugarkittycorse ts.com

The classic-tattoo-painted goodies at www.anagramfineart. com are awesome.

As for clothes, some of my favourites are www.gobbolino.co.uk (Fruitsy stuff), www.evilneedles.com (mostly horror recons), heavyred.com (gothy stuff), & www.pinupgirlclothi ng.com

As for actually putting these on wishlists, it's frustrating. It's mostly my parents who would buy these things, and they don't really do internet shopping. Last year I did wishlist with websites... but they got confused. Unfortunately I am then forced to go with MALL stores taht are "something like" what I like. Ha.

thanks psyche!  Those are really cool!

Fortunately for me, (or maybe unfortunately?) my parents are pretty big homebodies so most of the stuff they buy is either from catalogues or the internet.  I'll have a better chance of getting stuff I'll use if I give them an online wish list with links. Last year my DH gave my fam his amazon wish list and got tons of stuff he liked.  I gave them a written list and got some cool things, but also a lot of tchochkies and, like, 3 calanders. Tongue

oh well, I guess all parents seem weird to their kids. Roll Eyes

also, http://www.cutxpaste.com is awesome too, for clothes, accessories, books, paper stuff, pretty much everything.

http://www.shuushuubuttons.com/ is a new website i just found; it sells buttons with art from lots of upandcoming, young artists.. i dunno, i thought it was a really cool idea Smiley

I'm a really big fan of etsy. This should be a link to my favorite shops there:

These are some of my other favorites (as if it's not obvious, I'm an internet junkie too!)

and these aren't indie designers, but still shops on the smaller side of life - with fun stuff!

I hope that was helpful and not just overwhelming!! Have fun!
