My roommate has a thing for dachs..  weiner dogs, right? and so I thought I would make her one for her birthday to eat.....

It is homemade chocolate cake cut into shapes and then all frosted together. Tastes just like the real thing.   first shape cake I ever made.  I know it isnt proportionately long enough, but I was limited to the size of the cookie sheet and I wanted there to be as much cake as possible... so he is kind of fat.  and short. For a weiner dog.  cake.

thanks everybody.
yes, tastes just like dachshund, I am pretty sure they are chocolate flavored...

as for a tut, I just drew it on paper, and then cut out separate shapes for the body, head, tail, legs and the ear, to give it relief.  then i put them together, put one layer of frosting on it, stuck in the freezer to firm it up, then put another layer of frosting on top (the first layer gets crumbs all over in it, and doesnt look great).  I figure you could do any simple shape the same way, like a puzzle......
chimps and kidnergartners could make this cake, but I was so happy it worked out mostly. Sometimes simple is better, at least when i get crafty....
