anyone know where there's a guide with picture (preferably photos, but illustrations will do) to setting zippers into knitting? (including stuff like 'you need to knit a selvedge, or anything necessary like that).
looked online, but studioknits had nothing (that i could see), and googling it led to picture-free, brief instructions that were a bit confusing.

Some times you have to fool around with the wording of your search.
I had to reword this three times.

I'm glad you asked, though..I have the same task at hand coming up soon...and it's a new skill to me too.

Bonne Marie Burns at ChicKnits has a picture tutorial here.  I found it very helpful the first few times I put in zippers.

yeah, i did the 'insert zipper knitting' string. not such helpful results as these.

Thanks for this thread - I have a UFO which is only UF because of my fear of the zipper-sewing!  My LYS owner said she just gives her items to "Stitch It" (a sewing/tailoring store).  For the DIYer, this is much better Smiley
